How to update a GPS

What would we do without our GPS navigator every time we have to drive in some unknown place? Without a doubt, we would lose much more time trying to find our destiny. However, it is possible that you have also sometimes got angry when the GPS tried to take you down a street in a forbidden direction, for example. In most cases the fault is not GPS, but yours: when did you update it for the last time? In .com we tell you step by step how to update a GPS.

There is no single formula worth updating all GPS navigators, but each brand has its own method . The first step, therefore, is to go to the website of the manufacturer of your browser or the instructions for use.

Have you registered your product on the manufacturer's website? If you have not already done so, this is the moment. In Garmin, for example, the option is under "Support". In TomTom, create an account by giving "create account" (top right).

Now it's time to look for how to update the GPS : you can search through the menus on the web or simply search the internal search engine. In TomTom the option is found in the "Maps" menu, just like in Garmin.

Follow the steps indicated by the manufacturer's website to update your GPS . You may have to pay for the map at some point, although there are often smaller free versions as well.

Check back for updates and check that none are available. Your GPS is updated.
