How to speed up Access 2007

Access 2007 is a relational database management system developed and marketed by Microsoft. It provides a graphical user interface designed to make it easier to create databases, tables and queries. There are hundreds of ways to improve the speed of your Microsoft Office Access 2007, although not all performance peaks are applied to each database.

Steps to follow:

one

Divide your database into two databases to improve performance and simplify maintenance. Click on "Database Tools" and click on the "Access Database" option. Click on "database splitter". This will open an assistant. Click on "Split Database." Enter a name for the copy. Click on "Split."

two

Use "Performance Analyzer", a tool integrated into the product. Click on the "Tools" menu, and select "Analyze performance." Select all the objects or specific objects and click "Run".

3

Execute the "Access to analyze tables", an integrated tool that facilitates the correct normalization of the data in the tables. Click on "Access Tools" and select "Analyze." Select "Access Table Analyzer". Click on "Execute."

4

Minimize multitasking to improve Access performance. Close open windows or programs that you are not using.

5

Reduce the size of the graphics in your Access 2007 database. Click on "Access Options". Select "current database." Select the "Image Property storage format" in "preserve the source image format". This will reduce the size of your graphics, as well as the size of the file.

6

Read "Performance Tips to Accelerate Your Access 2007 Database" on the Microsoft website and find specific ways to accelerate access that may be relevant to your database.
