Form the walls of the space where you will raise the fishing worms by creating a space with its wooden blocks. Each block should measure approximately 5 centimeters high, 4 centimeters wide and 8 centimeters long. Put the ends of the wooden blocks together, making sure the edges match well.

3

Coat the inside of the wooden blocks with a thick gardening plastic. This can be cut to size or folded to size. The plastic should cover the bottom and all sides.

4

Grated newspaper or cardboard soak in water. Shake off the excess water and place the paper inside the space where you will raise the fishing worm . Fill half the space with paper.

Pour enough manure on the shredded paper to fill the bed of the fishing worm to the top, and mix well. Add a little water to the mixture, but avoid soaking it.

6

Add worms to space and let nature take its course.

7

Cover the upper part of the fishing worm space. This can be done by fixing plastic on top of the blocks. You can also use a piece of wood for the cover

Tips
  • Move the space with the worms once a month to aerate. The recycled remains of food, eggshells, cut grass, leaves and straw make an excellent food for worms. The egg shells provide the calcium necessary for their worms. To make harvesting easier, the worms feed on only one end of the worm bed
  • To keep worms from living and help them grow in size, keep the worm bed slightly moist. Do not mix the food in the soil. Let it sit on top of the bed. Do not seal the bed with a cover. The worms need air. Acid can kill worms. Check pH levels frequently, and maintain a pH of 7 or 8.
