The fact that they reach very high temperatures causes the slack to vary, being necessary to make the adjustment periodically.

Well, the first step is to remove the parts that cover the engine and that will vary depending on each motorcycle. You should consult the manual of your vehicle. Of course, be very careful to let the engine cool down before starting. The first thing you have to do is remove the inspection plugs from the exhaust and intake valves, helped by a dice key.

Then, as a previous step to regulate the valves of the motorcycle, you must use a 17-mm socket wrench to turn the engine counter-clockwise, after removing the crankshaft plugs. The goal is to bring it to the top dead center position, when the intake valve has just been closed. You will see marks on the engine that indicate different positions, the one that interests us is the piston at the top.

Now we just have to check the vehicle manual to know the clearance that the intake and exhaust valves have to have. We will need a pair of probes with the required clearances and a regulator.

Now, we proceed to regulate the intake valve . With the inspection cap removed, we place the corresponding probe and then the regulator, adjusting it until it makes contact with the probe. When we reach this point, tighten the regulator locknut and the necessary light will remain. Then, repeat the same operation with the exhaust valve.
