How to change the spark plugs of the motorcycle

Before proceeding to change the spark plugs of the motorcycle, you have to know that these parts are very sensitive so be careful not to drop the new ones on the ground so as not to damage them. Also, you have to be careful that the bike is cold to avoid burns during the operation.

Once you have taken the indicated precautions, the first thing you will have to do is dismantle the seat of the motorcycle to gain access to the spark plug or spark plugs of your motorcycle. Depending on the model, you will need to remove more or fewer screws, using a screwdriver.

When you have free access to the spark plugs, you will have to remove the spark plug pipette. It is recommended that you remove the excess dirt before placing it on the new spark plug. To remove the spark plug or spent spark plugs, you will need a key so you can unscrew them.

To put the new spark plug in place, you must act gently first by pressing only with your hand until it does not enter anymore and, once you have reached the top, you must use the key to finish fixing it. You have to remember that the spark plug is a very delicate piece, so do not overdo it.

To replace the pipette on top of the new spark plug, you will not need any tools. It will be enough that you place it with your hand and that you exert a bit of strength so that it is well supported. Then, reassemble the seat and you'll have your new spark plugs.

The motorcycle spark plugs are not very expensive parts, so do not skimp on expenses and buy quality parts and, if possible, those recommended by the manufacturer. In some motorcycle models, to change the spark plugs you will have to disconnect a lot of wiring and, in these cases, it is more appropriate that you go to your mechanic to perform the operation, which will not be so simple.
